The history of Deanprint can be traced back to the year 1871 and the establishment of a travel agency. Dean and Dawson in Stockport.
Joseph Dean, one of the founders of the agency, eventually recognised the potential of having a printing company that would take care of the print requirements of the travel business.
This led to him, in 1890, to establish the company that still bears his name to the present day, The travel company was later to be acquired by Thomas Cook.
Thirty years later in 1920, the foundations were laid for the present factory in Cheadle Heath now situated just 50 metres from junction 2 of the M60 motorway.
Since those early days, Deanprint has developed into a company producing a comprehensive range of printed products, including books, binders and stationery items to suit all requirements.

Proofing is carried out at every stage and is supplied to the client for checking utilising conventional or electronic formats.
We accept clients’ own artwork in any format and provide the most cost effective solution to getting your artwork printed.
As a printers we offer a comprehensive printing service from small single colour leaflets and printed stationery to four-colour process posters on a large variety of paper and board with a choice of four B2 and three B1 size Heidelberg presses.
From basic spot colour flyers to a complex mix of four-colour process and spot colours throughout a publication. All printing can be produced in-house.

All our presses are calibrated for colour to match proofs ensuring that what appears on the proof is accurately reproduced on press.
As a bespoke book binders we have a wide range of book binding techniques available to us.
This type of binding is a classic method used by bespoke book binders for quality books and registers. Cased-in books made of greyboard and covered with either printed and laminated paper or material such as PVC coated paper, bookcloth and bookram, leathercloth or the ultimate – real leather. There are a vast selection of coverings that are suitable for this purpose and we will be pleased to help you make the choice. This type of book is usually sewn together in sections and attached to the inside of a case with endpapers which are glued to the bookblock and the case.
Perfect binding is used by bespoke book binders for paperback books in many guises from novels to journals and can be a cost effective method of finishing which gives a square spine to display the title and authors name. The printed sheets are folded into sections and then gathered together in page order. The page back edge in then ground off and securely glued into the spine of a printed cover and then trimmed to size. For extra strength the inner pages can be section sewn.
Wiro binding gives a strong flexible finish to a book which allows the pages to be folded back on themselves.
The inner pages and cover are multi punched down one edge to allow a steel wire comb to be inserted and clenched to form the finished book.
The wiro comb comes in a variety of colours, diameter and sizes which allow for many different covers to be introduced.
A complete print finishing facility all in-house, ideal for producing booklets, annual reports, brochures, magazines, catalogues and price lists etc.
Saddle stitching is a simple cost effective form of binding which is ideal for booklets with a smaller number of pages. The printed sheets are folded centrally, gathered together in page order with a cover if required, wire stitched through the centre and trimmed to size.
Folders are produced to your bespoke design using die cutting, glueing or creasing to create your ideal product.
Printed design on the cover with either full colour of simple text enhanced with gloss or matt laminating over quality greyboard for that extra durability and creased in the spine to the required capacity. Fitted with a ring mechanism of choice.
